This program offers a phlebotomy and Laboratory assistant program that takes about 20 weeks in total to complete. The program consists of four classes. The first is a disease prevention class that is one credit and is completed in one week. The next class is the basic phlebotomy skills class that teaches all of the basic blood draws and phlebotomy background. The basic class is three units and takes about 10 weeks to finish. The next is the advanced phlebotomy training class that takes about nine weeks to complete. The advanced phlebotomy training class is seven units in length. The last part is the phlebotomy examination that is offered through the National Healthcare Association. The total cost of the program is about $1560 not including textbooks and supplies. The advanced phlebotomy class does include a six week externship as well as EKG training. Mosts of the classes take place between the hours of 6PM to 9PM. The externship hours may be longer and vary by time of day.

This program for phlebotomy training in Tacoma WA is taught by Clover Park Technical College. This program for phlebotomy training is about 15 minutes southwest of downtown Tacoma. The current cost for this program is about $500. There is a requirement to have high school diploma or GED prior to signing up. Additionally there must be at least one year of prior experience in the heath care field. The program is setup into a lecture and laboratory format with most of the classes occurring on Wednesdays late in the afternoon at 4PM to 6PM and on Saturday mornings from 8AM to 10AM. In total this phlebotomy program takes about 4 weeks to complete. There is a textbook required for the class at an extra cost. Note that there is no externship as part of this course.
